Alasia Franco Vivai drives forward the development of poplar

WATBIO is a European Framework 7 funded collaborative research project focused on the genetic improvement of three perennial biomass crops: poplar, miscanthus and arundo.  The project started in November 2012. The goal of WATBIO is practical: to deliver knowledge and technology to improve the production of biomass under water-stressed conditions.  WATBIO Innovation Notes (http://www.watbio.eu/innovation/) provide information on partners’ innovation activities.

WATBIO is coordinated by Professor Gail Taylor at the University of Southampton, g.taylor@soton.ac.uk @taylorlabsoton, www.taylorlab.co.uk
